Music: E.C. Goodman and Sonny Lawton

Video: E.C. Goodman

Words: Guy Debord and George Carlin

The spectacle demands reflexive applause for its scripted pseudo-discussion, manufactured debate, and perpetual orgies of self-congratulations masquerading as public discourse. While passions run hot during election season, it pays to remember that at the end of the day U.S. rulers are on the same side working for the same oligarchs. This video portrays their non-stop cheering for themselves, a dramatic prop intended to reinforce allegiance to whichever major party holds power. George Carlin sums it up at the end.
